Pet Behavioural Counselling

The Martensville Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer behavioural counselling appointments for your pet. Does your pet display behaviour that is frustrating, destructive and even dangerous? We can help.

Behavioural counselling at our vet clinic in Martensville will include an initial veterinary assessment and detailed behavioral history.  This is to screen for underlying medical conditions that can contribute to unwanted behaviors.  If your pet is otherwise healthy a custom behavioral  treatment plan will be made for your pet.  Due to the unique and individual nature of pet behaviour difficulties each plan will be different based on you, your pet and the environment they live in.  Each new step will need to be based on how well the plan has worked so far.

Many behavioural difficulties can be solved with training and environmental changes. In some situations supplements or medications may be recommended for short or long term use.  The majority of pets will require 3 to 6 appointments after the initial veterinary medical exam to optimize their behavior.
